Ettins, hands down. Before Vigors and Absorption dropped from 80k to pocket change, anyway.

Trolls outside Droknars Forge, with the original 55 using protective bond. When people would pay for power leveling. Also the shadow from sin in the UW, i was using that build way before everyone else when ecto was well above 5k.

Great posts so far. I forgot about worm farming. That was a real challenge.
I had a lot of fun going with a group to green farm Sorrow's Furnace. You could sell a Razorstone Axe for 90K or a Bortak item or Brohns for over 100K in 10 seconds.

I think my favorite farms that hardly anyone still playing would remember is tengu outside of riverside province which use to be a super botted area. Grand drakes in divinity coast mission. Lightning drakes in gates of kryta and keep in mind those grand drakes use to drop a gold for everyone of them just about back in late beta/early release. Elona reach farming and not the minotaurs the sand drakes outside of the mission. I would say the biggest money maker of all was chest running twin serpent lakes back when it was full of keyless chests. I made millions back in the day off of crystallines and other ultra rare items.

My favourite was Necro-55ing North Kryta Province with the Titan quest active. Loot scaling killed it, but it was pretty fun and required a bit of thought thanks to the Water titans carrying Maelstrom. Couldn't actually *do* the quest, but could clear out a pretty large chunk of the zone.
Nice source of runes, gold titan-related items and there was a spot at the north end of the spot where a gold rune would *always* drop. Got a lot of 50k+ Sup Abs and Sup Vigors from that.
Oh oh oh. I don't think anyone's mentioned this yet. But the "Battle of Turai's Procession" quest on a R/Rt or Rt/R. Dear god that was hilarious. It was a pretty fun way for Survivors to get XP too.

I did that farm maybe two or three times, then Splinter Weapon changed. But it was fun.
Personal favorite used to be vermin farming. Killed by loot scaling.

I REALLY enjoyed HoS CRs and I also enjoyed d-core farming - which gave me 15k an hour or more, just on items for sell =). I got a white/black dye every once in a while and SOOOO many golds and a 20/20 sundering and +30 HP mods for swords and also a r9 longsword I sold for 10k there =( im sad that the farm was nerfed (or destroyers were buffed). I really enjoyed that farm, though few people actually appreciated it.

oh so many all that was listed + hydras in desert, The many quest in factions where you could farm runes form kurzick or luxon enemies (one of very few assassin mobs at the time that wore armor). I miss Troll farming, all green farming in general including the massive 3 man MM factories in sorrows furnace. I miss Gladiators defense farming many things on warrior, and Lastly I miss spectral farming that was taken from us due to the shadow bomber.

55/105 Arborstone Wardens pre-loot scaling (and I guess pre-whatever buffed the Wardens Of Seasons to make them hard to kill with whatever build I was running at the time. they aren't a nuisance really, but you used to be able to clear everyone in your path back in the day). It was an easy 4k+ just on drops alone, then you add in several golds, lots of amber weapons which made dust, lots of tanned hides, and -20 health jug offhands which 55's used to buy up back in the day for like 2k. Nowadays, I don't think that farm is worth doing all that much. Too much walking for like 1-2k. I didn't stick to the main room mobs. I used to do a giant circle around the area.
Factions farming in general is good because Highly Salvageable and Increased Market Value mods show up a lot. I also used to farm Pongmei Valley, Vermin, and the A New Escort quest Dragon Moss. New Escort Dragon Moss was awesome for plant fibers and spiritwood. Loot scaling kind of puts me off of farming these days in general. Did it to most everyone, I think. Only builds like the 600 where you can take out large numbers of mobs seem worth doing anymore (unless you're material/rare material farming particular mobs).
The Colossal Scimitar farm hasn't been nerfed but that's probably the one farm that I used to do a hell of a lot but don't anymore (for whatever reason). As I'm now working on my ID title, maybe I should get back into it. I remember that lots of golds seemed to drop there.

W/Mo Ettin farm outside Beetletun for Runes.
55Mo Trolls outside Droknar's for tusks and chest drops
55/105Monk Naphui Quarter for Celestial weapons. (Not Nerfed, but I got tired of it)
Perma-UW farm as an ele. Never liked my sin enough to use her there.
